The Nigerian labour congress has commenced it’s proposed peaceful protest after a failed meeting with the federal government.
Following the federal government’s disapproval of NLC demands for the government to caution the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, salary increase and to find sustainable ways to ideal with the hardships citizens are currently going through in the nation.
In this regard, the Taraba state chapter of NLC, have joined other states to observe the nationwide protest as they were seen around the Taraba state secretariat and other strategic areas in Jalingo the capital city of Taraba.
Our reporter, who spoke with some residents in jalingo metropolis gathered that some individuals believe that they have no reason to participate in the movement as they are not government workers.
Some business owners at the Jalingo main market were forced to close down their businesses in order to join the peaceful movement.
Auwal Danmuldi and Mohammed Hassan, complained that they are unsure why market is shutdown and it worries them where to get their next meal.
Re- acting to this,Taraba state police has warned that anyone caught in any criminal act, likely to sabotage the protest would face the wrath of the law, as hoodlums are prone to disrupting such peaceful movements.
Meanwhile, securities have been deployed to strategic places to ensure the safety of protesters in taraba state.
