Eleven commissioner nominees were this Tuesday successfully screened by the Taraba State House of Assembly and are now awaiting confirmation by the House.
Our correspondent Shafiu Ibrahim reports that the screening exercises will continue on Wednesday the 12 of July 2023.
The session which was chaired by the deputy speaker, Hon Hamman Adama Ibn Abdullahi commenced screening shortly after a motion moved by the majority leader, Hon. Jethro Yakubu Zikengyu at the plenary for the House to resolve in to a committee of the whole and seconded by the minority leader Hon Abubakar Musa Abdullahi.
Those screened were Prof. Nicholas Oliver Namesan from Karim lamido, Mr George Peter from Sardauna, Dr Augustina Godwin from Jalingo, Engr.Naomi Tanko Agbu from Wukari, Mrs Aishat Abdul-aziz Barde from Zing, Dr Bodia Gbansheya Buma from Donga, Hon. Joseph Titus Nagombe from Gashaka, Comr. Julius Peter from Lau, Hon. Saviour Badzoiling Noku from Ardo Kola, Dr. Filister Irariman Musa from Ussa, and Comr. Noseh Luka From Kurmi local Government Area.
The Nominees who were ushered into the hall one after the other, gave brief summary of their profiles and responded to questions from various members on how best they intend to employ their wealth of experience, skills and expertise to drive productivity and development in their proposed ministries and by extension the state.
The majority leader Hon. Jethro Yakubu Zikengyu then moved for the resumption of plenary, seconded by the minority leader Hon Abubakar Musa Abdullahi.
The house has adjourned to resume plenary on Wednesday 12 / July/ 2024.
